Just days after reports surfaced that Deepika Padukone had walked out of Prabhas-starrer Spirit, the makers have found her replacement. The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Animal and Kabir Singh fame, will now feature Triptii Dimri in the lead role. The actress previously worked with Vanga in the box office hit Animal.

Triptii Dimri joins Spirit

On Saturday, Triptii Dimri took to social media to announce her involvement in the film. She shared a picture of the title poster featuring her name in multiple Indian and international languages. Sharing the news, she wrote,"Still sinking in…. 😍So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga… Honoured to be a part of your vision."

This marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration between Prabhas and Tripti — a fresh and intriguing pairing that is expected to spark strong interest across audiences and the industry alike. The film also marks Tripti’s second collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, producer Bhushan Kumar, and Pranay Reddy Vanga, following their acclaimed and successful film ANIMAL.

About Spirit

Backed by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, SPIRIT is set to be a grand-scale pan-world entertainer. With Prabhas taking on the role of a fierce and intense cop, and Tripti bringing her distinctive screen presence to the narrative, SPIRIT is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films on the horizon.

The film is currently in pre-production and will go on floors in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.

Deepika Padukone walks out of Spirit

A few days ago, it was reported that Deepika Padukone, who was set to play the lead in Spirit, had exited the project. According to reports, director Vanga was put off by her demands, which allegedly included eight-hour workdays, a significant salary, and a share in the film’s profits.

Deepika, who became a mother to a baby girl last year, has reportedly decided to reduce her working hours to maintain a better work-life balance. However, her new demands reportedly did not sit well with the director, prompting her to walk away from the film. Spirit would have marked her second collaboration with Prabhas. The two had previously featured together in Kalki 2898 AD last year.

Meanwhile, after walking out of Spirit, Deepika has reportedly joined the cast of Allu Arjun’s upcoming film with director Atlee. In 2023, she also appeared in an extended cameo in Atlee’s box office hit Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.
