Hi Alankrita! When was the first time you realized / understood the significance of Valentine’s Day?
I think I realized that Valentine’s Day is very important for the world and celebrated it when I was celebrating the day with my boyfriend in a very magnanimous manner. I was totally in awe of the atmosphere which was prevailing in the air that day. Trust me when I say that, I was extremely impressed by the way I was pampered that day. But… I believe most of us back in the day looked forward to a day where they had the opportunity to be expressive and honest without looking cheap or pushy and for them to be validated. But, the fact also remains that, as you grow up, many of such dimensions start changing.

Who was your first Valentine? Please be honest… Honesty appreciated…
My first valentine was a guy (laughs)! I am sure he would want his privacy to be respected. Hence, I would like to leave it at that.
Do you think that the concept of Valentine’s Day has been misinterpreted?
Yes!
Is Valentine's Day only about romance and love? Or can that day be celebrated for friendship as well?
Contrary to popular belief, Valentine’s Day is a day which is not only for lovers, but for all those whom we love. Of course, Valentine's Day is not the only day to share our love. Rather, it is yet another opportunity to let those whom we love know how much we love and appreciate them.

Which is the best book on Valentine’s day that you have read?
I have two books on my list- ‘The Forty Rules Of Love’ and ‘The World’s Greatest Love Letters 2022’.
Can you recall your most memorable Valentine’s Day?
Oh My God! It was absolutely amazing. I was treated like a queen by him. He booked an entire restaurant and proposed to me in the most beautiful way. I was in tears and I am grateful to have had such memories with him. He left small notes behind for me to read in my purse and wrote the most beautiful love letter. I am a woman who loves poems and quotes. He knew his way.
What type of a Valentine are you? Are you the card-roses types or romantic poems-candle light dinner types? Or is there anything besides these?
I am the popcorn, pajamas and movie night types (smiles).
Has anyone rejected your Valentine’s Day proposal or have you rejected any Valentine’s Day proposal?
Yes, I have rejected. But I have never proposed to anyone yet. Maybe one day when he is worthy of it…I shall.
If you had to choose any Bollywood celebrity as your Valentine, whom would you choose and why?
It HAS to be Shah Rukh Khan … anyday! I grew up watching him and attended most of his tours with my family. His sense of humour, his demeanor, his wit, his eloquent speeches and the way he respects women are the most attractive qualities you can find in a man. And above all… He is the undisputed king of romance! So… it would be and has to be SRK all the way!
And, if you had to choose a Hollywood celebrity as your Valentine, whom would you choose and why?
Ryan Reynolds. I am sure that you very well know the reason why! He is the world’s best husband. Ask Blake Lively!!
Do you have any special plans for this year’s Valentine's Day?
Noooooo… I am working! But, for me, every day is Valentine’s Day. I’m loved by my family and friends.
Have you ever received any card or gift from a secret admirer? If yes, what was it and what was your reaction to it?
Yes, I have received a few at home, which, for me, was very shocking and scary. They had found my address, so that made me very nervous. They sent flowers, cards and letters. Very sweet of them but also very intrusive. And when the people who I knew expressed their admiration, it was funny and very bold of them.
In your opinion, is Valentine's Day the most romantic day of the year?
No it isn’t. I think we must celebrate each other and respect each other every day. But if Valentine’s Day makes you happy and feel special please have a blast. We market this day very well but the original story is quite different in comparison. So, I feel we must enjoy each day with our loved ones.
What’s your idea of a perfect Valentine's Day date?
Well... a perfect date should have a lot of humour, surprises, great food, a conversation that keeps you engaged, a good-looking man who knows how to mesmerize a lady and also should be able to treat the staff well.
Valentine’s Day is about love and Cupid. Have you ever played Cupid in anyone’s life? Or has anyone played Cupid in your life?
Of course. We all do. I have played Cupid in the lives of so many friends of mine. It’s a lot of fun and yet very tasking! (smiles)
