Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR
The War franchise, headlined by Hrithik Roshan is set to return to the big screens with its sequel War 2 on August 14th, and the stakes of the project are more ambitious this time around. It is learnt that superstar Hrithik Roshan has inked a deal with the producers that involves Rs 50 cr upfront payment plus profit sharing. Trade sources predict the total remuneration of the Actor to be in the vicinity of Rs 100 crore.
Hrithik enters profit-sharing deal with War 2 makers
War (2019) emerged as the highest-grossing film of the year and set a box office precedent with the character of Kabir (portrayed by Roshan) becoming a sensation across India upon the film's release. Nearly 6 years later, Hrithik Roshan is all set to reprise the role of Major Kabir in the 6th film of YRF's spy universe, War 2.
Interestingly, Hrithik has inked a similar deal for War (2019) and owing to its blockbuster success, the superstar had walked away with a lion's share of the profit. Earlier, YRF has offered a similar profit-sharing deal to Bollywood's three Khans, in addition to Hrithik. With War 2, Hrithik has charged a fee of Rs 50 crore and will earn over Rs 100 with the profit sharing deal.
Jr NTR and other cast members salary
War 2 also features south superstar Jr. NTR and is touted as a pan-India project. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Jr NTR has been paid Rs 70 crore for the film. g. Kiara Advani, on the other hand, has got Rs. 15 crores, whereas Anil Kapoor is drawing Rs. 10 crores for War 2. The acting fees alone have resulted in Rs. 150 crores, with Ayan Mukerji getting a hefty cheque of Rs. 30 crores.
War 2 is made on a budget of Rs 400 crore, making it the most expensive spy film of YRF. “The remaining Rs. 220 crores have been invested in mounting the film at an unimaginable scale. The visuals of War 2 will take the audience on an unforgettable ride,” the trade source told the entertainment portal.
Starring Jr. NTR, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana, in addition to Hrithik Roshan, War 2 is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films. The film will release worldwide in time for the Independence Day weekend on August 14th in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
