Comedian Zakir Khan has been going through a health crisis for quite some time. The stand-up comic has time and again shared updates on his social media handles as fans questioned him about conducting fewer stand-up shows. Amid this, during his recent tour, Zakir announced his decision to take a break, and the clip is now going viral on social media.

Zakir Khan on taking a break

In the clip, Zakir, while speaking to the gathered audience at Hyderabad, shared his plan and said, “I’m going on a long, long break—probably till 2028–29, or even 2030. It will be a break of three, four, or five years to take care of my health and to sort out a few other things. So everyone present here right now is very close to my heart. Your presence means more to me than you can imagine, and I will always be grateful to all of you. Thank you so much.”

Amid his tour, the comedian took to his stories and mentioned, “Every show is a celebration till June 20. I won’t be able to come to many cities this time, so please make a little extra effort and come to the shows. Thank you for all the love.”

Zakir Khan on his health

In an earlier post, Zakir shared a health update and his decision to take a break, writing, “I have been touring for the last 10 years. Though I am extremely blessed to receive your love and affection, iss tarah ka extensive touring is not very healthy. Trying to satisfy everyone you meet, doing 2–3 shows a day, sleepless nights, early morning flights, and, of course, no timetable for meals. Net-net, main ek saal se bimar hi hoon, par kaam karna hi pada kyunki uss waqt zaruri tha. Jinko pata hai, unko pata hai.”

While performing has always been his passion, Khan admitted that prioritising his health had become unavoidable. “I absolutely love being on stage, par ab thoda break lena padega shayad. Matlab mann toh mera hai nahi; waise dekha jaaye toh ek saal se bhi taal hi raha tha. Par ab lag raha hai ki baat haath se nikal jaaye usse pehle sambhal lena chahiye.”

Zakir Khan’s Papa Yaar tour kickstarted in October and is expected to continue till mid-February. He has performed in various cities, including Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhopal, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Mangalore.
