Why is Jackson Wang in Mumbai?

Reportedly, Jackson’s trip is part of a multi-pronged campaign to promote his upcoming album Magic Man 2. He will also be promoting his latest singles, including the hard-hitting ‘BUCK’—a collaboration with Indian superstar Diljit Dosanjh—and his emotionally raw track ‘Hate to Love’, which was unveiled recently.

According to reports, Jackson will be staying in Mumbai for seven days, during which he will participate in various activities including media interactions, podcast appearances, and digital collaborations that align with his global appeal and strong Indian fanbase. “Jackson wants to connect with his Indian fans at a deeper level. His schedule is hectic, but he’s adamant about embracing Indian culture and warmth in full swing,” India Today quoted a source as saying about Wang’s plans in Mumbai.

Jackson Wang’s previous visit to India

This is not Wang’s first visit to India. In 2023, he made a brief stop in the country and met Bollywood stars Disha Patani and Hrithik Roshan. He had also performed at Lollapalooza 2023 India.

Who is Jackson Wang?

Jackson Wang is a multifaceted entertainer—rapper, singer-songwriter, dancer, television host, and fashion designer—who rose to fame as a member of K-pop boy band GOT7, debuting under JYP Entertainment in 2014. Before his entertainment career, he was a competitive sabre fencer, winning the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship and earning a place on Hong Kong’s national team. After years in GOT7, Jackson launched his solo career through his label Team Wang, releasing his debut solo album Mirrors in 2019 (peaking at #32 on the Billboard 200) and his second album Magic Man in 2022. He also designs fashion lines for Team Wang Design and has collaborated with global brands like Fendi and Cartier.
