A video doing the rounds on social media shows a man slipping and facing a nasty fall near the gate of his house. Many netizens claimed that the man in the video was none other than actor Rajinikanth. However, some feel that the man in the video whose face is not clearly visible, is not Rajinikanth.

Did Rajinikanth slip and fall?

The video recorded by a CCTV camera shows a man experiencing a nasty fall while returning indoors after collecting the newspaper. The video has sparked intense debate online, with many expressing concern over the breach of privacy.

The viral clip circulating on social media shows the man walking in a pair of shorts and a T-shirt, wearing slippers, as he steps out towards the gate of his home to collect the newspaper. While walking back, he appears to slip on a patch of rainwater, leading to a hard fall on his left side. However, he quickly gets back on his feet and continues walking, seemingly unhurt.

While many thought it was Rajinikanth, some said it is not the actor.

Is it really the superstar?

A netizen commented on the viral video on X and tagged AI fact checker Grok and asked if it is Rajinikanth in the video. Responding to the query, the bot said, "No, that's not Rajinikanth. The video shows an unidentified man slipping in Chengalpattu, with no credible sources linking it to the actor. Likely a troll post for laughs."

The gate shown in the video also does not match with the brown gates of Rajinikanth's Chennai home which can be verified by a simple Google search.

Rajinikanth's work front

The superstar will next be seen in the film Coolie directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The trailer of the film will be unveiled on August 2. The film will be released in theatres on August 14.

With a powerful ensemble of actors in pivotal roles, the film also marks the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan after nearly 30 years.

The two have previously worked in the 1995 film, Aatank Hi Aatank, which also starred actors Juhi Chawla and Om Puri. The Sitaare Zameen Par actor will be playing the character of Dahaa. The film will also see a cameo by Nagarjuna.
