Politician and actress Archana Gautam who is a contestant on the latest season of Bigg Boss, got into conversation with mid-day.com.
Why did you decide to be on Bigg Boss?

When I found out that I was shortlisted and would be interviewed for Bigg Boss, it was a dream come true. I had been hoping for this to happen since a long time.
Who are your favourites from previous seasons of the show?
I’m not a regular viewer because I got busy with politics. I had watched season 13 and I liked Sidharth Shukla, Shehnaaz Gill and Asim Riaz.
How do you balance politics and acting?
I’m a young politician and Priyanka didi (Gandhi) gave me a ticket because she trusted me. I’m glad that I could inspire many women. Now, I want to win over the audiences trust in Bigg Boss.
Are you prepared for fights and controversies, that are common on the show?
I am a bit scared because I have a fiery temper but my dad had said that I will have to control myself and be patient, like other politicians. I don’t want to use words that will anger the audience and society. I belong to scheduled caste and girls from our community aren’t given education and are married early. I want to inspire such women to go ahead and achieve their dreams.
Your thoughts about host Salman Khan...
I’ve been watching Salman Khan sir since childhood, I enjoyed ‘Maine Pyar Kiya.’ It was my childhood dream to meet him and it’s come true today. I can’t express how happy I am in words!
What will you miss most while in the house?
I have taken permission from Bigg Boss to carry my silbatti (grinding stone) in the house. I will make chutney and serve everyone. I also plan to carry some items for puja and saag.
