The death of veteran actor Satish Shah left the entire industry mourning, especially his Sarabhai vs Sarabhai team, who were visibly shaken by his passing away. While earlier reports claimed that the actor died due to kidney failure, now actor Rajesh Kumar, who played Satish's son in the popular sitcom, has refuted the reports and revealed the real reason behind his death.

Rajesh Kumar reveals the reason for Satish Shah's death

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Rajesh Kumar shared, "I can’t tell you, Subhashji, how emotional these last 24–25 hours have been. It’s very difficult to even express it." Further clarifying reports, he said, "But I do want to clarify a few things about Satishji’s passing. Yes, he did have a kidney issue, but he actually passed away due to a heart attack."

Further sharing how he passed away, Rajesh reveals, "He was at home, having lunch, and then he just... passed away. I wanted to clarify this because some reports are saying it was due to kidney problems. The kidney issue had already been dealt with; it was under control. Unfortunately, it was a sudden cardiac arrest that took him away."

Rajesh also recalled Shah's last message to him, saying, "He had shared his last photograph with me just a week or two ago — I even posted it on Instagram. He had messaged, saying, 'See how much weight I’ve lost, how much cooler I look now!' He said he was 80% recovered, with only 20% to go. None of us imagined this would happen."

Earlier reports of Satish Shah's death

Earlier confirming his death, Satish's close friend and industry colleague Ashoke Pandit told PTI, "He died due to kidney failure. His health suddenly deteriorated at his home, and he was taken to Hinduja hospital, where he passed away... It is a huge loss for our industry. He was a jovial person."

P D Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, where the actor was rushed after being found unresponsive at home, issued a statement saying it received an emergency call regarding Shah's health earlier on Saturday, October 25, 2025.

"An ambulance with a medical team was immediately sent to his residence, where he was found to be unresponsive. CPR was started in the ambulance itself and continued on arrival at the hospital. Despite the best efforts of our medical team, Mr Shah could not be revived," the hospital said in a statement.

A close friend and collaborator has also shared that Shah had undergone a kidney transplant three months ago.
