Mayur gets candid about Disha Vakani's plans on returning to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
In a recent interview with ETimes, Mayur Vakani, who not only plays Daya's on-screen brother Sundarlal but is also Disha's real-life sibling, dismissed the rumours, citing family obligations as the reason for her ongoing absence.
"I have followed her journey closely. I am two years older than her. One thing I've learned is that when you perform with honesty and conviction, God's rewards follow. She is truly gifted, but she has also worked very hard. That's why Daya has received so much affection," Mayur explained.
Speaking about Disha's current life, Mayur continued, "Our father always taught us that in life, too, we are actors, and we must play every role truthfully. She is currently portraying the role of a mother in real life, and she is doing so with complete dedication. I honestly believe that this was always in her heart."
Disha Vakani left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2017 following the birth of her first child. Her homecoming has since been one of the most talked-about issues among the show's fans. Since then, her followers have been urging a comeback. Asit Modi, the program's producer, recently announced that the character would be returning to the show and that tryouts for the role were now underway.
