Actor Mohit Raina has returned for the second season of Amazon Prime Video's original series 'Mumbai Diaries'. In the series, he plays the role of Dr Kaushik Oberoi, Head of Trauma surgery at the Bombay General Hospital. The first season revolved around the hospital set in Mumbai and how it dealed with the situation when Mumbai was under terror attack on 26/11. Raina's performance as the no nonsense doctor who does not differentiate between his patients (even if it is a terrorist) won hearts and was one of the highlights of the show.
After the show, created by Nikkhil Advani, the makers announced the second season. The new season will see the staff of Bombay General hospital deal with floods in Mumbai. The gripping series will also see the return of actors Konkona Sen Sharma, Shreya Dhanwantary, Natasha Bharadwaj, Satyajeet Dubey and Mrunmayee Deshpande along with new entries like Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Riddhi Dogra.

However, this is not Raina's first saviour act. Before winning hearts in the OTT space with 'Mumbai Diaries', the actor was well-known for his role as Mahadev in the TV show 'Devon Ke Dev Mahadev'. In 2011, Raina was cast as the lead in Nikhil Sinha's Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev. The TV series focused on the Lord Shiva and his journey from hermit to householder through his marriage to Sati and later to Parvati. For the role, Raina underwent a physical transformation and also learnt the classical Indian dance form of Kathak. He played over 30 different characters in the series, which ran for three years, ending in December 2014, by which time Mohit had become a celebrity. Mohit's believable performance as Lord Shiva had many takers. To the point, audiences forgot the actor behind the character and started believing in his God-like aura.
Such was Raian's popularity as Mahadev, Priyanka Chopra once revealed how it impacted her family. She revealed that her aunt wanted her to get married to Raina as she believed he was a "well-behaved, honest young man who is also an exceptionally good actor".
After Mahadev, Mohit Raina was seen in a memorable role in National award-winning film 'Uri: The Surgical Strike', which again was a saviour act. He later made his web debut with the ZEE5 web series Kaafir, starring opposite Dia Mirza.
