Sikandar Kher

Negative roles seem to be fast becoming Sikandar Kher’s forte. After portraying the brooding Daulat in Aarya, the actor will essay the role of a gangster in Chidiya Udd. Helmed by National Award-winning director Ravi Jadhav, the upcoming web series is set in Kamathipura and revolves around human trafficking. Sources say that Kher’s character in the drama is inspired by real-life criminals who operate in the area.

A source reveals, “Kamathipura is known to be the den of some gangsters. Sikandar’s character is an amalgamation of two to three criminals who deal in trafficking of women. When Ravi briefed him about the role, he asked the actor to study their mannerisms and body language. Since the inspiration for the character is borrowed from two gangsters who are still active in Kamathipura and another who is serving a jail term, the team is keeping their names under wraps.” The MXPlayer series also features Madhur Mittal of Slumdog Millionaire fame.
