Indian businesswoman and philanthropist Nita Mukesh Ambani celebrates her 62nd birthday today, surrounded by family and friends.

Over the decades, her contributions to philanthropy, education, healthcare, sports, and arts and culture have been transformative, shaping Mumbai’s social fabric.

The Reliance Group in a statement said, “Nita Ambani has redefined what it means to lead with purpose. She has been instrumental in transforming lives through the Reliance Foundation as well as founding pathbreaking institutions such as the Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, Swadesh, and the Mumbai Indians."

Celebrating Mumbai, she is the co-owner of the Mumbai Indians men’s and women’s team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and the Women’s Premier League (WPL) respectively.

Nita Ambani is the first Indian woman to become a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2016. She is playing a pivotal role in India's ambition to host the Olympic Games. Her commitment spans from grassroots sports development to positioning India as a global sports power and bidding for the 2036 Olympics

While she has contributed to many fields over the years, she has also been empowering rural communities to nurturing talent and preserving India's cultural heritage in different forms.

In 2023, she founded the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), which aims to preserve and promote Indian arts. Situated in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the performance space has been hosting some of the biggest artists in the world, along with some unique productions including the Life of Pi, and The Phantom of the Opera since then, among others.
