Poetry, like music, has the power to transcend language barriers since raw emotion isn't bound by the parameters of recognisable words. That's the premise with which The Poetry Club and Max Mueller Bhavan are organising an event called Crossover Poems. The aim is to promote linguistic multiplicity via recitals in English, Hindi, Marathi as well as German. As noted poetess Rochelle Potkar elucidates, "Thinking in only one language creates moulds, which are sometimes too rigid. It is important for ideology to be malleable to fit the shape of a transient, ever-surprising life."

So, shed your lexical inhibitions, head to the venue and feel a gamut of emotions take birth inside of you as Hindi poet Saurabh Jain, Marathi poet Tukaram Dhande and the English-speaking Potkar stir up a cauldron of poetry that has a mix and match of different languages.

On September 23, 6 pm onwards
At Max Mueller Bhavan, Kala Ghoda. Call 22027710
