Started his journey as an extra dancer in Bollywood at the age of 16 and today he is the most successful dance coordinator and director of Octopus Entertainment. Raj Has been inspiring people with his unbelievable and extraordinary achievements. Let’s have a sneak peek to his inspiring journey.


 


Raj Surani has started his career as an extra dancer with Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai’s Koi Mil Gaya song just to gain some extra pocket money. As he started working as an extra, he started earning extra pocket money and gained confidence. While he started with Shah Rukh Khan he soon became the integral part of many chartbuster numbers. As leading towards success Raj worked with many well-known celebrities and well-known choreographers. One of them was Farah Khan.


 

Raj Was working as an extra but after his father’s demise he had to take his family’s responsibility. So, he decided to became dancer to earn more money, he trained rigorously with Raju Khan and became a dancer and worked in films like Humraaz. Later in 2002 Farah Khan called few dancers for Main Hoon Na. His efforts paid off and he got selected in that audition and went to Darjeeling for shoot for a month. Soon after Main Hoon Na Raj was a part of Farah Khan’s group for next four years. At that time dancers used to get ₹ 1500/- per day. Raj made sure to earn ₹ 30000-40000/- a month to support his family. It was a sufficient amount back then.

While working with Farah Khan Raj learned a lot of things and technicalities as well. While talking about her Raj Says “Farah Khan has given us dancers huge confidence by making us dance next to stars in big songs like Jeene Ke Hain Chaar Din, Om Shaanti Om etc. It was because of her songs that we got the recognition with the actors. Farah is brilliant as a technician too.” Raj believes that working with Farah Khan has been a milestone in his journey and growth.

 

Raj Surani is still inspiring people with his dance studio Octopus Entertainment. His selfless work for dancers and industry is worth praising. He has been the youngest most successful dance coordinator in the industry. He truly is an inspiration.
