This was one hell of a year for gaming. A year that saw the return of some major franchises into epic form. Not to mention, some newcomers who did things right. If you have missed any from this list, now's the time to catch-up.
<img src="http://images.mid-day.com/images/2015/dec/gaming1.jpg" alt="" />Mortal Kombat X The year started bloody, brutal and downright mind blowing with Mortal Kombat X. It brought wonderfully balanced fighting, with amazing kung fu animation and some stomach-turning fatalities, with all too realistic graphics. The story mode was pretty cool too. Nothing beats humiliating a friend after a friendly bout by pulling out his head and spine.

Truly terrifying and challenging, it&rsquo;s from the company that bought you the fantastic Dark Souls series. Bloodborne throws you into a dark, gothic world of Lovecraftian horror. Where you have to master your weapons and be quick and nimble on your feet. One of the best games you will ever play.

From a small Polish development studio comes a massive open world epic where you play as a mutated monster hunter Geralt of Rivia. This features an amazing world to explore and some monster quests with writing that will haunt you till the end of days. Not to mention, the expansion pack was released this year and was equally good.
<img src="http://images.mid-day.com/images/2015/dec/syndicate.jpg" alt="" />Assassins Creed Syndicate Finally after long, Ubisoft has been able to craft an Assassins Creed game that's fun to play. Syndicate follows twins Jacob and Evie Frye, assassins hell-bent on freeing London from the grasp of Templar gangs. Mad Max Hot on the heels of the movie comes a really good open world game. While it takes a bit of time to get exciting, once you get your Magnum Opus, the world opens up to you. A beautiful dried up seabed, to vast open rocks and deserts. The game fleshes out the world of Mad Max from the movies. Pillars of Eternity From the same team that made old world isometric RPGs like Planescape Torment and Baldurs Gate, comes Pillars of Eternity. It&rsquo;s homage to the RPGs that it's inspired from. Painting a beautiful world with a terrible curse on it.
Fallout 4 The next installment of Fallout brings you into The Common-wealth, letting you explore a post nuclear Boston. It brings the same amazing action and RPG elements and adding a weapon crafting system, power armor suits, a base building element and lots more. <img src="http://images.mid-day.com/images/2015/dec/phantompain.jpg" alt="" />Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain Game legend Hideo Kojima&rsquo;s final Metal Gear Solid game hit this year, making it a memorable notch on the calendar for gaming. Phantom Pain follows Big Boss, Snake, one of the greatest soldiers to have ever lived, as he assembles his mercenary group to take on the people responsible for destroying his forces and almost killing him. While the game had several problems on PC, and not-so-great content, the main game was fantastic on consoles. It offered us a rich game world with several characters from the Batman mythology walking in. And yes, you get to drive around in the Batmobile.
<img src="http://images.mid-day.com/images/2015/dec/gaming2.jpg" alt="" />Dying Light A surprisingly good game, Dying Light had a bit of a quiet launch. A first person action, survival game in a city overrun by zombies. What stood out is the amazing free-running and hand-to-hand action system against some really terrifying zombies, who get scarier at night. This game will actually make you afraid of venturing out into the game world when the moon is out.
