We were tuned in from the word go. Metal-made numbers denoting different radio frequencies embellish the outer wall of Radio Bar. The radio vibe continued as we were to find out during our first visit to Bandra&rsquo;s newest bar, an offering of Silver Beach Entertainment and Hospitality.

A jukebox (in workable condition with plans of jukebox nights) and an entire wall lined with radios from different eras continued the theme as mic lights hung above us. The al fresco area sported groovy cassette tape lights, swing sofas and a handcart bar. The property includes a basement section (again with a wall made of cassette tapes) aimed at private parties.

Chef Rohan D&rsquo;Souza told us the menu has been designed to ensure enough quick bites to feed the bar-goers and includes mains as well, for those who wish to indulge in a peaceful dinner. The outdoors section would facilitate this mood, with lower sound levels. The rest of the menu has been divided into fried, roasted and baked sections.

To start our cocktail-sampling joyride, we cheekily asked for the Breakfast Martini ('420) to make up for the first snack of the day that we skipped. The martini gets its name from the spoonful of orange marmalade. The lovers of whisky (especially Jack Daniel&rsquo;s) can try Jack Straw ('550) a mixture of the famous brand and cherry liqueur.

An even tastier drink to savour is the Cinnamon Apple Martini ('420) served with a cloud of sugar strings on top. Happy with our tall orders, we began our snacking expedition with Spinach Fritters ('280), which were crisp spinach balls served on a spill of jaggery and tamarind chutney.

If you&rsquo;re a healthy freak who digs the odd visit to the bar, Radio Bar tosses up four salad options. We tried the Watermelon Salad ('450) that might be a tad expensive, but offers a crisp mix of greens, watermelon and rockmelon, goat cheese and filo shaving, instead of croutons.

For carnivores, Stuffed Prawns with Ricotta and Olives wrapped with Bacon ('450) is a very tempting option. The mango salsa served along with the dish is quite a delight. Fans of guacamole can try the The Radio Bar Avocado cream, chilly and chive spaghetti with falafel ('410).
Our favourite bite from the mains was Singapore Chilly Crab Lasagna (525), which has crab at its best, without the bother of shelling it. Kooky, spacious interiors, a good sound setup for music, and a tempting menu, Radio Bar is raring to go in Bandra&rsquo;s tough neighbourhood.
