Boda Chow Food:&nbsp;Average Service:&nbsp;Timely Ambiance:&nbsp;NA
When we learnt that Boda Chow, a part of the same chain as the Boda restaurants in Powai and Chembur, which is better known for their Bengali fare, had started a Chinese takeaway, we decided to test unfamiliar waters. The delivery time suggested was between 45 to 60 minutes and our food arrived just within the hour on the day we dropped by the eatery to order our parcel.

For starters, we ordered the Chicken Wrapped Prawns (Rs 280), which had a thin coating and was delicious, and the Gin Chicken (Rs 210), which were delectable spicy chicken meatballs (dry), though we couldn't really taste the gin in it.
For the main course, we tried the Shitake Mushrooms in Oyster Sauce (Rs 230), which were much sweeter than usual oyster sauce preparations, but interesting, nevertheless. However, the Shanghai Style Roast Lamb (Rs 280) left us very disappointed, as the slices of lamb were tough and chewy, bordering on the rare.

These were combined with the Egg Fortune Rice (Rs 160), which had vegetables and was flavourful, though not too different from the regular Egg Fried Rice that is a staple on most Chinese sections of menus. The Yam Mein Noodles (Rs 160) were a little too oily and the yam was hard to trace. Though this was a home delivery, we ordered the Roasted Mango Drink (Rs 50, aam panna) that was packed in plastic takeaway containers, and tasted refreshing.

Overall, we found that the portions were substantial, and delivered value for money. Go ahead and try it, but don&rsquo;t get too adventurous with unfamiliar meats.

If you're in Chembur, and are hard-pressed to enjoy a leisurely meal, Boda Chow, with its affordable Chinese takeaway, might just be a decent option
