On a recent Air India flight, this writer noticed that several travellers politely but firmly turned down the in-flight meal. When our meal was served, we realised why — it comprised a dry bread roll, a potato pattice topped with runny daal, and a sickly-sweet cake-custard hybrid. So, when we learned that a menu overhaul was on the cards, as one of the enhancements the Maharaja will receive as part of its recent handover, we were understandably excited.
