The vibrant festival of Holi is here, however owing to Covid-19 restrictions in place, celebrations will be low-key. But that should not dampen your festive spirits. We have rounded up a list of sweet shops, delivery kitchens, and cafes offering Holi special menus to lighten up your intimate celebrations at home with your loved ones. All of these establishments offer deliveries, in line with needed precautions, so that you can enjoy from the safety of your homes.


Sweetness reimagined


The Bombay Sweet Shop reimagines Indian sweets and mithais, offering vegetarian traditional sweets with a contemporary twist. Their Phoolon ki Holi collection includes Rangila Laddoo (doodh boondi laddoo with a colourful makeover), Thandai Kheer Kadam (rasgulla wrapped in a soft malai peda), and the Nutty Gujiya (traditional flaky pastry filled with a sweet mixture of kalakand, jaggery, coconut, pista, cashew, chironji and cardamom), and Phool and Pista Bark (topped with pistachios, dried flowers and sea salt). They offer multiple assorted boxes (Rs 650 onwards) of nine to eighteen pieces with different treats.

Southern delight

Known for its authentic flavours, Nair on Fire has a specially curated Kallu Shaap menu for Holi. The delivery kitchen is serving traditional Porotta and Puttu meals. Pickled Erachi Peralan (Rs 560), and Chicken Porotta Pothi Pollichathu (Rs 345) are served with parotta, while Kochi Meen Curry (Rs 540) and Nasrani Prawns Mappas Curry are served with puttu. Vegetarians may opt for Chilli Pepper Blasted Kappa (Rs 199).

Savoury and sweet

A boutique Indian dessert brand, Ornamental Mithai is offering a number of interesting sweet and savoury indulgences this Holi. Their Chaat Party (Rs 3,500) box includes five flavours of pani-puri, mini avocado mathris, Rajasthani kadhi kachoris, cauliflower and peanut samosas, and aloo matar samosas. The Sweet Holi (Rs 3,100) is an assorted box of gujiyas, chandrakala, balushai, rajbhog, and thandai kesar laddoos. Based in Mulund, they are open for pre-orders and deliver across the city.

Strawberry gujiya

Iktara by Chef Amninder Sandhu is a delivery kitchen serving Indian comfort food, from Biryani to Amritsari fish fry. Their Holi special menu includes popular sweet dishes, Jalebi (Rs 300), Dry fruit gujiya (Rs 350), and Thandai (Rs 280). For those who prefer being experimental with their food, the Strawberry gujiya (Rs 350) is a great alternative. Savoury snacks such as samosa and dahi papdi chaat can also add to your holi celebrations.

Vegan thandai

Thandai is quite synonymous with the festival of colours that celebrates the arrival of spring. Khar-based Yogisaatva Cafe is known to offer flavourful plan-based food with a menu that includes vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free offerings. Chef and founder, Raveena Taurani has come up with a vegan and refined sugar-free Thandai Kulfi (Rs 175) that will cater to vegans as well as the health-conscious. A guilt-free indulgence, the kulfi will be available till March 28 via deliveries as well as dine-in.
