We made the mistake of not making a reservation on a Saturday night at Mirabella, the newest entrant on Andheri's party circuit. The result? We were told to wait at the bar and they weren't sure they could give us a table at all! The bar is an enclosed space (unlike the rest of the area) with a dance floor and loud music. About 20 minutes and after much cajoling, we managed a table in the roomy al fresco area. Though we hadn't been to the pub that earlier stood on the spot where Mirabella is now, we were told that it was pretty similar to its earlier avatar. With potted plants, European-style sculptures, butterfly printed upholstery, wooden tables, arched windows and chandeliers with exposed bulbs that gave the space a warm glow, the ambience was pretty. However, we'd find it even more charming if the Pop and Bollywood playlist was filtered to separate the ambience outside.

Apart from the regular breakfast, soups, salads, and small and large plate options, the menu features sections with healthy and vegan options too. We decided to opt for the Vegan Bruschetta Omlette (Rs 350), a tofu omelette served with tomato salsa and pesto. The tofu melted in the mouth and the unusual combination was delightful. Next up was the Lehsuni Machchi Tikka (Rs 370). Served with garlic coconut chutney and orange, apple and fennel salad, the dish was disappointing. The fish wasn't soft enough and the tikkas felt dry.

From the mains, we chose the Tandoori Chicken With Couscous and Madras Curry Sauce (Rs 450), which sounded interesting and tasted great too. Served on a bed of couscous, the well-cooked chicken had all the ingredients of a spicy South Indian curry.
We gulped our meal down with an Expresso Martini (Rs 547), which was stiff and a tad bitter for our taste. To reduce our guilt, we picked what we thought was a slightly 'healthy' dessert. The Flourless Chocolate Fudge (Rs 350) had just the right amount of sweetness required to end a meal. While we would choose to go back to the caf&eacute; for breakfast sans the noise, it works as a decent hang out for night crawlers too.
