While this is the ninth Beer &amp; Burger Festival that Woodside Inn is hosting, what excited us the most about this edition is the TBK Bohri Spiced Raan Burger.

It's made with 48-hour-marinated spiced lamb leg, and served with crispy yam straws, potato skins and plum-raw mango salad cups. "Every year, we collaborate to bring out unusual burgers, Previously, we have crowd sourced and invited suggestions from guests and even asked them to create their own burgers. This time, we wanted to fuse different cuisines with the burger," says owner Pankil Shah.
"Bohri cuisine is becoming quite popular, more people have sampled it lately because of The Bohri Kitchen. They suggested the marinated raan, and we've come up with a burger recipe for it," he says.
Gateway Brewing Co will present an exclusively crafted brew for the festival called Ale Caesar, which is a burnt copper beer. "It is aromatic with citrus grapefruit, pine and pepper, tinted with hues of copper and amber. Most of the burgers can be paired with pale ale beers and handcrafted brews or other international varieties too," says Shah.

The menu features 13 burger varieties including the Confit Cockerel Burger, which has a spicy citrus slow-cooked young rooster and crispy chicken skin. "Cockerel or rooster meat is very different from the regular chicken meat," Shah points out.
It also features a Creole Spiced Bombay Duck Burger made with locally available crispy Bombil, jalapeno, raw mango and coconut relish, served with purple yam crisp and red cabbage-radish slaw. Meanwhile, vegans can opt for Pulled Jackfruit Burger, featuring raw jackfruit cooked with curried leaves, fresh coconut and fried cashew nuts, served with purple yam. "These days, many people look for a vegan option because of their lifestyle choices. We wanted to have an option for them, if they love burgers," says Shah.
