A chocolate fairy named Frannie wearing a wafer paper dress and chocolate body; a moveable and edible BB8 droid, a pastel water colour cake, edible autumn wreaths&hellip;at Cakeology 2016, you can have your cake and eat it too.
"These days, cakes aren't only about flavour &mdash; people want novelty. You can design anything on a cake now and here, we intend to show you how to do just that," says Khushi Malani, founder of CakeKraft India, the people behind Cakeology.

The three-day event will feature demos, half-day classes, daily competitions, an exhibit area and a market -place for cake d&eacute;cor products. There will also be display cakes, about seven to 10 feet tall and featuring intricate patterns. The organisers have flown in three international baking artists, who will hold classes on air brushing, creating sugar people and gravity-defying cakes.

Vintage d&eacute;cor Ashwini Sarabhai, 36, the Hyderabad-based owner of The Dream Cakes will host three demo sessions. "The art deco one will focus on the techniques needed to incorporate the vintage style of d&eacute;cor on cakes &mdash; sharp edges, straight lines an painting with gold. The second one is all about isomolt &mdash; how to melt the sugar and mould it. The third one is about puff embroidery &mdash; creating patterns using fondant," says Sarabhai. Moving cakes At Dawn Butler's class, you will learn how to create the BB8 cake, featuring the android from Star Wars. The founder and owner of DinkyDoodle Cake Designs in Nottingham, is also the inventor of the cake frame &mdash; a food grade internal support structure for cakes. "This is the first class where I will be teaching people how to use these frames," she says. "Think of it as LEGO for cakes." Her other workshops will talk about an airbrushing system and how an airbrush, water and ethanol-based colours can give cakes textures of wood, metal or gold. Cookie art Learn how to decorate tiny cookies with intricate icing work with Prachi Dhabal Deb, 30, a Pune-based baker and founder of Venture Cake D&eacute;cor India. Dhabal Deb will conduct three demo sessions. She is known for her royal piping icing-work. "I will be teaching how to use piping to create art for wedding cookies or heart-shaped ones, and to create lace patterns on them," she says.
