Mohammad Ali Road and its bylanes have been serving some delicious food for time unknown. Even though these areas come alive during Ramzaan, the food and the deliciousness never ceases

Mohammad Ali Road food trail
Eid-al-fitr is a festival that is celebrated with much enthusiasm all around the world. It also brings in the disappointment of the end of the month long Ramzaan, which all Mumbai food enthusiasts wait eagerly for the whole year. The by lanes of Mohammad Ali road come alive with lights and markets being set up, during this holy month. Kebabs, Shorba, and various sweets are sold in these lanes. Special menus come up and thousands throng to them tasting the food and living the history of bohri mohalla and surrounding areas.
For all those who missed the party this year, we have some good news. We bring a list of places that though are visited mostly during Ramzaan, are present all the year round. Egg malpua, kebabs, Shorba and Sandal will not be seen for a whole year, but, there are still some delectable places that are a must visit from these lanes; places which have stood the test of time.
Chicken Hakimi and Shami Kebab at Noor Mohammadi
Noor Mohammadi is known mainly because of another chicken preparation that dots its menu – “Chicken Sanju baba”. Legend has it, that Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt liked his chicken prepared in a certain way (definitely not our favorite) and that recipe has gone up in the menu. We recommend to instead try their Shami Kebab. The kebabs disappear every evening by 7, and if you are not there in time, you might miss them even when the crowd is thin.
