A large cavity, estimated to be about 10 feet deep, appeared on Dr Muzumdar Road in Thane (West) on Tuesday evening after a drainage chamber collapsed near HDFC Bank, opposite the Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran office, near Gadkari Rangayatan.

According to the Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, the incident occurred at 7.43 pm. The collapse led to a significant portion of the road caving in, but no injuries were reported.
