Six out of 23 employee unions of Mahavitaran (MSEDCL) have called for a one-day strike on Wednesday (9th) in rural and urban areas. Mahavitaran has completed emergency planning to maintain a smooth power supply during this strike and the system across the state has been kept ready. Mahavitaran has appealed to the engineers and employees providing electricity services to cooperate during the strike.

Bharat Bandh 2025: Mumbai likely unaffected, barring local disruptions
Mumbai's transport and various other sectors will largely remain unaffected by the Bharat Bandh called by central trade unions on Wednesday, unless there are localised protests and forced disruptions.
A coalition of 10 central trade unions and their associates has called for the bandh to protest what they describe as the government's “anti-worker, anti-farmer, and anti-national pro-corporate policies".
"Yes. We will stage a protest, but there will be no disruption to the normal working of the railway establishment. The actions are strictly peaceful, orderly, and within the bounds of trade union democratic expression. We have given a call to our field units, down the line, to organise a peaceful solidarity programme across the Central Railway on July 9, 2025. These programmes are being organised in support of the Nationwide General Strike called by all major Central Trade Unions, including our parent organisation Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS). The aim of these demonstrations, rallies, and gate meetings is to highlight the deep resentment and growing unrest among the working class over the anti-labour and anti-people policies of the government, particularly those that have a direct impact on the interests of railway employees and the public sector at large," Venu Nair, general secretary of National Railway Mazdoor Union (NRMU), Central and Konkan Railway, told mid-day.
