The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has completed tree removal, branch clearance and pruning work at 3,841 locations across Mumbai following heavy rainfall and strong winds over the past week. According to the civic body, operations are currently underway at 542 remaining locations within its jurisdiction.

Garden Department responds to rain-related incidents

According to the BMC, between June 22 and July 17, 2026, the city recorded 902 uprooted trees and 1,251 incidents of fallen branches across municipal areas, housing societies, residential colonies and other private properties.
