Crime Branch officials said they received a tip-off on January 1 that a gang would be striking at Chembur Collector Colony. They laid a trap and arrested Swami. Rehan was nabbed after Swami revealed his involvement. Investigation revealed that the duo had been operating since several years and were history-sheeters. Officials recovered valuables, including a film camera, a refrigerator, a treadmill and a home theatre worth Rs 72.33 lakh and Rs 25 lakh cash. They also arrested two dealers who had purchased stolen goods from the duo. Swami said he took to crime to better his financial condition.
