More than two years after losing his left leg in a bull shark attack in Palghar, 36-year-old Hitesh Govari is still waiting for compensation promised to him by the Maharashtra Forest Department as a special case. Unable to return to his earlier work since the February 2024 incident, Govari said he is struggling to meet household expenses. He was the sole earning member of his family.
