IMD issues yellow alert for Mumbai today, orange alert for heavy rain on Wednesday

IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai on Tuesday and an orange alert for Wednesday, forecasting heavy rainfall. The city recorded over 26 mm of rain in the last 24 hours, while the BMC has advised residents in low-lying coastal areas to remain alert due to high tides

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and surrounding areas. The weather forecasting agency has further predicted heavy rainfall on Wednesday, issuing an orange alert.
IMD further predicted that the city is likely to experience cloudy conditions with heavy rain. According to the latest weather bulletin issued by the IMD, Mumbai recorded a maximum temperature of 29.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24.9 degrees Celsius.
