Indian Railways’ Vande Bharat cargo express reaches Mumbai for high-speed trials up to 145 kmph

Indian Railways’ high-speed Vande Bharat cargo express reached Mumbai during the weekend for its high-speed trials. The super freighter is being tested to enable faster transportation of time-sensitive cargo.

The freight train, designed to carry palletised goods, has reportedly touched speeds of up to 145 kmph (in empty condition) during its earlier trials in the Kota division and reached 130 kmph during daytime trials. The 16-car rake is planned to carry around 264 tonnes of cargo, with focus on high-value and time-sensitive consignments.
