<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/mumbai-police-articles" rel="nofollow">Mumbai Police</a> on Tuesday arrested a 61-year-old man for making a threat call to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-cm-eknath-shinde-takes-charge-at-mantralaya-bal-thackeray-dighes-photos-in-his-office-23234818" rel="nofollow">Maharashtra Mantralaya</a>, stating that a "terror attack" would take place in a day or two, reported news agency ANI.
According to ANI, the arrested man has been identified as Prakash Kishanchand Khemani.
"Kandivali Police arrested a 61-year-old man, Prakash Kishanchand Khemani for making a threat call to Maharashtra Mantralaya last night, stating that there will be a terror attack in a day or two," the news agency quoted Mumbai Police as saying.
The Mantralaya Control officer informed that they received a threat over the phone at 10 pm from an unidentified caller after which the police started to trace the caller and arrested the man Monday night.
According to the police, he will be produced before the court today.
Further investigation is underway.
In a separate case, on August 6, the Mumbai police arrested a man from the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/juhu-articles" rel="nofollow">Juhu</a> area who had made a threat call at the Mumbai Police Control Room. "The man who had placed a threat call at Mumbai Police control room arrested from Juhu area by Juhu Police. A case was registered against him. He had placed the call under the influence of alcohol,&rdquo; said the Mumbai police. The Mumbai police control room on Sunday morning had received a threat over the phone from an unidentified caller. The caller claimed the possibility of a serial blast in a local train, according to the police.
However, when the police official sought more information on it, the caller did not respond.
"Police control room received a threat call from a man. The caller told Police that serial blasts will take place on a local train in Mumbai. The caller claimed to be speaking from the Vile Parle area and then switched off his phone", said the Mumbai police.
Considering the gravity of the situation, the police alerted the officials.
In another case, on July 18, Mumbai police received a second threat call in two days, about a bomb planted in the city.
"The main control room of Mumbai police received a call about a bomb planted in Mumbai," an official said.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against unidentified persons regarding a message received last week, warning of a terror attack in the city if Pakistani woman Seema Haider did not return to her country.
"On Monday, police had received a similar call from a number which was traced to suburban Ghatkopar. The man who allegedly made the call was found to be mentally unstable," officials said.
