The Maharashtra Congress has raised objections to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state, claiming that more than 2.06 crore voters have been excluded or placed in categories requiring verification.

The party termed the figure “unprecedented and alarming” and sought an inquiry and physical verification of the deletions to ensure that eligible voters are not left out of the electoral rolls.
