The Education Department in Maharashtra, has announced a special round for Class 11 (FYJC) online admissions for the academic year 2025–26.
According to an official notification, this year, the entire admission process is being done online across the state for the first time. Maharashtra has 9,525 junior colleges with a total intake capacity of 21,50,130 students. So far, 14,55,945 students have registered for admissions, and 12,03,416 have confirmed their seats.
Under the recently concluded “Open to All” round, 3,81,420 students submitted their final preferences. Among these, 34,784 students received allotment as per their preferences, and 3,24,761 students confirmed their admission in junior colleges by 11 August 2025.
From August 15 to August 17, a "Special Round" for new registration of students , correction in filled applications, new registration for students who have passed the State Supplementary Examination (ATKT) and priority registration in admission application part-2.
Under this round, allotment lists will be announced to the students in junior colleges on August 19, 2025 at 11.00 am.
Students allotted in the "Special Round" can confirm their admission by appearing in person at the concerned Higher Secondary School/Junior Secondary School to which they have been allotted during this period from 1.00 pm on 19th August, 2025 to 5.00 pm on 20th August, 2025.
Special round schedule-
- On August 12 and 13: New student registration and corrections in Part 1 of the application. Colleges may return quota seats (if any).
- August 14, 2025: Display of vacant seats on the portal at 5 pm
- August 15 - 17: Students can register, update applications, and enter preferences. Supplementary exam (ATKT) passed students can also apply.
- August 19, 2025: Allotment list to be published at 11 am.
- August 19 (1 pm) to August 20 (5 pm): Allotted students must visit the assigned colleges to confirm their admission.
"Students, parents, and principals are advised to check the official website and complete the required steps within the given deadlines," the official notification said.
Out of these, 3,19,582 admissions were through general CAP rounds and 5,179 were through special quotas (management and minority).
