Maharashtra: Leopard attack leaves 8-year-old dead near Thane district

An eight-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack near Kalbhonda village in Thane’s Kasara region. The incident occurred while the child was collecting mangoes in a forest area. Forest officials have launched a search operation, installed camera traps, and intensified patrolling to prevent further attacks

In yet another human-wildlife conflict, an eight-year-old boy lost his life after a leopard attacked the minor in a forested area near Kalbhonda village under the Dolkhamb range, close to Kasara in Thane district. 

The unfortunate incident happened on Tuesday morning, which alerted the authorities. According to the Forest Department, the deceased has been identified as Krishna Agivale. The victim had ventured into a forest patch within Survey No. 86 around 10:30 am on Tuesday to collect mangoes along with a family member when the attack occurred.
