<p>The officials on Tuesday said a 51-year-old woman died after being struck by lightning in a village in Maharashtra's <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-rains-chaos-all-around-as-mumbai-faces-wettest-may-day-in-107-years-what-to-expect-next-23552699" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Thane district</a>, reported news agency PTI.</p>
<p>The incident occurred in Chatu Budruk village in Shahpur on Monday afternoon, tehsildar Parmeshwar Kasule said, reported PTI.</p>
<p>Sunanda Padwal was struck by lightning in the backyard of her house, and she was taken to the Thane Civil Hospital, where she was declared dead, he said, reported PTI.</p>
<p>A case of accidental death has been registered, the official said.</p>
<p>He said this was the fourth death due to lighting this month.</p>
<h2>Two killed, six injured in lightning strike in Maharashtra's Latur district</h2>
<p>In another incident, two persons were killed and six others injured in a lightning strike in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-weather-updates-heavy-rainfall-expected-today-imd-issues-yellow-alert-23552772" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra's</a> Latur district on Monday evening, an official said, reported PTI.</p>
<p>The incident occurred in Gothala village of Ahmedpur tehsil when a group of people were working in a field, he said, reported PTI.</p>
<p>In another lightning strike in the district, a buffalo died in Tiruka village of Jalkot tehsil, the official said.</p>
<p>Last year, 15 people lost their lives due to bolts from the sky in the district.</p>
<p>The official said the district has only three lightning arresters installed in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-rains-spark-political-blame-game-as-shiv-sena-ubt-slams-bmc-over-flood-mismanagement-23552700" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Latur</a>, Ausa and Chakur.</p>
<h2>Three killed in rain-related incidents in Pune district</h2>
<p>Meanwhile, three people were killed in separate rain-related incidents in Pune district over the past two days, officials said on Monday, reported PTI.</p>
<p>According to the Pimpri Chinchwad police, one Santosh Khandve, a resident of Raundalwadi in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-red-alert-issued-by-imd-in-pune-as-monsoon-strengthens-23552693" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Khed tehsil</a>, was struck by lightning while fishing on Monday afternoon, reported PTI.</p>
<p>In Daund tehsil, a 75-year-old woman, Tarabai Ahir, suffered grievous injuries after a wall of her house collapsed. "She was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries during treatment," a district official said, reported PTI.</p>
<p>On Sunday, heavy rain had lashed parts of Indapur, Daund, and Baramati tehsils, causing waterlogging and inundation in several villages. In Pune city, a 49-year-old motorcyclist, Rahul Joshi, died after a tree fell on him in the Karvenagar area, officials said.</p>
