Two ticket checkers onboard a local train on Saturday helped rush an ill woman commuter who was in pain to the hospital in time. The 19-year-old passenger was writhing in agony before the ticket checkers, who were on duty in the same compartment, swung into action.

“As Chief Ticket Inspector Deepa Vaidya and Head Ticket Checker Jain Marcella took charge of the situation, they consoled the commuter and as the next approaching station was Thane, they got in touch with the stationmaster and alerted him. The latter kept a wheelchair on standby as the train reached Thane.
