Kurar police arrest five, including an auto driver who knew the victims, as they stay in the same locality

Akash Shinde, the auto driver, robbed the duo along with four others
The Kurar police on Sunday night arrested an auto driver and four others for allegedly robbing two men at knifepoint in Malad East. Sources said the accused were nabbed within hours of the robbery. They identified the accused as Akash Shinde, the auto driver, and his accomplices Ganesh Anil Raje, Mahesh Kamble, Sunny Ghode and Ram Ashok Raje.
Deenbandhu Das, 23, and Kallan Dulai, 25, were waiting to hire an auto outside Rajesh Restaurant & Bar in Laxman Nagar when Shinde approached them, sources said. Shinde offered to take Das and Dulai to their destination, even though four others – the accused – were already sitting in the auto. As Das knew Shinde, they agreed.
