Mumbai civic body imposes Rs 18.70-lakh penalty in 1,336 waste management violation cases

BMC cracks down on waste violations, imposes Rs 18.70 lakh in penalties (Representational image)

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) imposed penalties totalling Rs 18.70 lakh in 1,336 cases for violations under the Solid Waste Management Bye-laws, 2025, between September 1 and 28.

As per officials, the action was taken against violations related to public cleanliness, waste segregation and improper disposal of waste.
