Mumbai to get 15,000 new AI-powered CCTV cameras under Rs 2,140-crore project

Mumbai Police have already installed more than 10,000 CCTV cameras across the city in earlier phases of the Mumbai City Surveillance Project. Officials said the upcoming expansion will significantly strengthen the city’s real-time monitoring and public safety systems

Mumbai’s city-wide CCTV surveillance system is set for a major expansion with the installation of 15,000 new AI-powered cameras under a Rs 2,140-crore project, officials said on Tuesday.
The new phase of the project is expected to begin later this month and will introduce advanced video analytics into the city’s security network.
