Central Railway restores second line on Mumbai-Pune route, Deccan Queen to resume on July 16

Central Railway has restored the second railway line between Karjat and Lonavala after monsoon-induced landslides disrupted services. The Deccan Queen and Intercity Express will resume operations from July 16, while work continues to restore the remaining Up line

Days after heavy rain disrupted the rail services on the Mumbai-Pune rail route, Central Railway on Wednesday said that they have restored the second railway line on the South East Ghat section between Karjat and Lonavala.

Officials from Central Railway further announced that the iconic Deccan Queen and Intercity Express services will resume operations from July 16, 2026.
