After a scuffle over money, a 22-year-old raped his friend’s five-year-old daughter to take revenge. The accused, identified as Laxman Gupta, was arrested by Dinoshi police on Wednesday and he has been remanded to police custody till Monday.

Goregaon-resident Gupta, who works as a salesperson, stayed in the same locality as the girl’s father and was friends with him. A police official said, “On Tuesday morning, Gupta and the survivor’s father had some dispute related to money, during which the girl’s father struck him. After the father left for work, the accused went to his house.
