Vengsarkar launches Gavaskar A fashion designer in New York is called Vengsarkar and his fashion label is called Gavaskar. According to the website http://gavaskarny.com/gav/about.html he was born in 1984 in Guyana, South America.
The website adds that fashion designer Vengsarkar Budhu then migrated to the United States when he was four, and discovered his passion for dress making at an early age. The youngest of five, his sisters were a main source of inspiration growing up in New York City.
In 2002, Vengsarkar decided to pursue his career by attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York with continuing studies in Florence, Italy. In 2006, Vengsarkar graduated with the most prestigious award, designer of the year among many other awards awarded by, Saks Fifth Avenue, Ream Acra, Cotton Incorporated, Fashion Group International, just to name a few.
New York City is Vengsarkar's main source of inspiration, it is where he has established his name, his brand, his dream; called Gavaskar. Today, Vengsarkar designs for what he calls the Gavaskar woman. We do not know what the two Mumbai cricket icons think of this, but, we can guess that they may be quite amused if they do know.
What&rsquo;s in a name? Plenty, when it's the wrong one on your voting card! Our colleague received what he thought was his voting card in the mail recently. The envelope bore his name all right, but the card inside was in someone else's name altogether.
The same thing happened with another family member - same name on the envelope and the wrong card inside. We know what a rigmarole it is to get details changed in the electoral rolls, and at this late stage we are not even sure it is possible.
Somewhere, two other people have received envelopes in their names with the wrong cards inside&hellip; and who knows in how many instances this has happened?
Wit and wisdom With politics in the air, one is reminded of words of wisdom from down the ages. Politicians have evoked strong reactions, especially when it comes to money. So the time is apt when we read words like this: We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office. -Aesop
Tasty incentive to vote Many organizations and political entities try all sorts of ways and means to encourage voting, more so when an imminent weekend means that people would rather holiday than exercise their franchise. Popular Malad eatery Uncle's Kitchen has joined the fray - not contesting the polls but getting people to participate with an innovative lure.

Their banner says the restaurant will remain closed on polling day until 6 pm so that people can vote without being distracted! That's a good way to remind voters of their duty, as well as cement the brand's identity in their minds. Marketing and PR gurus may please note.
