A fire broke out at a flat of Pearl Residency, a high-rise building located in Andheri West area of Mumbai, the officials said on Wednesday.
According to the civic officials, the blaze broke out at the building which is located near Andheri Sports Club on JP Road in Azad Nagar, Andheri (W) at around 7:57 pm. The incident was reported to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/Mumbai-Fire-Brigade-articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB)</a> that rushed to the spot and began a firefighting operation.
The fire, which was confined to one flat on the 12th floor of the high-rise building, triggered a swift response from multiple agencies. the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Local Police and the BMC Ward Staff were mobilized to the spot.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade declared the incident as a Level 1 fire at around 8:20 pm, indicating a controlled situation. The prompt response from the agencies involved helped prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building, an official said.
No reports of anyone being injured in the incident has been received so farm, the officials said.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are underway, they said.
Meanwhile, in an another incident last week, one person was injured after a major fire broke out inside an industrial complex in Mumbai's Goregaon, the official had earlier said.
The fire broke out at the industrial complex near Mrinal Gore flyover in Goregaon area of Mumbai, the civic officials said.
According to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/brihanmumbai-municipal-corporation--articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)</a>, the fire was reported at Asmi Industrial Complex at around 8 pm.
"A 25-year-old man identified as Nasim Khan was injured in the incident. He has sustained around 10-15 per cent burn injuries in the incident. He has been admitted in Trauma Care hospital," an official said.
The civic body said that at least 12 fire engines and other fire-fighting vehicles were rushed to the spot for a firefighting operation.
The officials said that the fire was confined to a diesel godown and scrap materials in a few units inside the complex.
Mrinal Gore flyover was closed for traffic due to the fire, the officials said.
