A fire broke out in a flat in a 28-storey residential building in the western suburbs, civic officials said on Monday, reported news agency PTI.
There were no reports of injuries in the blaze that erupted at Adani Western Heights in the Four Bungalows area of Andheri West around 11 pm, they said, reported PTI.
The blaze was confined to the electric wiring and installations of a flat on the seventh floor of the building and was put out by the fire brigade in half an hour, an official said.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, he said.
Fire breaks out at commercial building in Santacruz, no casualties
In another incident, a fire broke out at a six-storey commercial building in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai in the wee hours of Sunday, civic officials said, reported PTI.
There were no reports of injuries in the blaze that erupted on the sixth floor of Emgeen Chambers in the Kalina area of Santacruz East around 2.30 am, they said, reported PTI.
A civic official said that four fire engines were pressed into service, and the blaze was put out in two hours.
The fire was confined to electric wiring and installations, office files, wooden furniture, computers, glass facade and the false ceiling on the sixth floor of the building, he said, reported PTI.
The police, 108 Ambulances, staffers from a power company and BMC were rushed to the spot.
Fireman injured during operation to douse fire at textile factory in Thane district
Meanwhile, a fireman suffered minor injuries while fighting a fire at a textile factory in Maharashtra's Thane district on Wednesday morning, officials said, reported PTI.
Fire Officer Mahesh Patil told PTI that the fire broke out around 5.45 am at the industrial unit situated in Khoni village of Bhiwandi.
The fire was brought under control around 8.30 am, said the official from Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation, reported PTI.
During the operation to douse the fire, an LPG (liquified petroleum gas) cylinder exploded, causing minor injuries to a fireman. The firefighter is being treated at a local hospital, he said, reported PTI.
Cooling efforts are underway, the official said, adding the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
