A food delivery agent was killed after a speeding water tanker rammed his motorcycle. Salman Janmohammad Khan, 24, and his friend who was riding pillion, were dragged for several metres, after which the trucker fled the scene in his vehicle. The incident took place late on Wednesday night (May 21), near the Gandhi Nagar Junction in Kanjurmarg.
According to Park Site police, Khan was riding home with a friend around 11.45 pm on Wednesday after collecting food from Tagore Nagar when a water tanker, reportedly moving at a high speed, crashed into them from behind. The collision caused the bike to get stuck in front of the tanker.
Shockingly, the driver did not stop after the collision, dragging both men along the road. Khan’s 17-year-old friend somehow escaped with minor injuries, but Khan sustained serious trauma to his chest. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Based on a complaint filed by Khan’s friend, the police registered a case against the unknown tanker driver for reckless and negligent driving. Efforts to trace the absconding driver are currently underway, and further investigations are ongoing.
