A new elevated deck has been opened for public at Nalasopara station in Palghar district of Maharashtra and it will ease passenger's movement at the railway station, an official statement by the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation said on Wednesday.
According to an official statement, a key infrastructure upgrade has been completed at Nalasopara railway station with the commissioning of a 95-metre-long and 11.5-metre-wide elevated deck over platform no. 1, significantly improving passenger movement and safety.
The elevated deck, which connects the two southernmost Foot Over Bridges (FOBs), is now fully operational. It is part of a broader station improvement initiative led by the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd (MRVC), the statement said.
The newly constructed deck is designed to ease congestion at the railway station, especially during peak hours, by offering seamless connectivity between platforms and FOBs. It will help distribute foot traffic more efficiently and reduce overcrowding on staircases and platforms, the officials said.
