A technical issue on a Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3 train on Friday led to a brief scare near Santacruz station in western suburbs of the city, officials said.

Following the incident the passengers in the train were evacuated.

The incident occurred at 2:44 pm when a train heading towards Acharya Atre Chowk experienced a snag while approaching Santacruz, they said.

As a precautionary measure, the train was safely evacuated at Santacruz station, and no injuries were reported. Passengers were quickly guided off the train by staff, following standard safety procedures, said the officials.

According to the officials, the train was later moved to the BKC loopline for a detailed technical inspection. The affected service was cancelled, but officials confirmed that all other trains on the line continued to run as per schedule.

"We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers and appreciate their cooperation. Passenger safety remains our highest priority, and necessary protocols were promptly followed to ensure safe operations," a spokesperson said.
