Relentless monsoon showers continued to batter the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), leaving large parts of Virar waterlogged and disrupting transport services for the third consecutive day on Wednesday. According to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC), the civic body recorded 215 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours, pushing the region into a flood-like situation. Continuous downpours and inadequate drainage have left several parts of the city inundated, severely disrupting daily life.

Yashwant Nagar Circle is among the worst-hit areas in Virar West. Residents have remained stranded in homes amid prolonged power outages and communication disruptions, questioning whether authorities care about their plight.
