Over 96,000 vaccine doses were administered in the city on Tuesday of which 77,808 jabs were delivered by private centres. The BMC has allowed beneficiaries above 45 years to walk in between 10 am and 3 pm on Wednesday. On Monday, 94,941 doses were given, including 71,523 by paid facilities. On Tuesday, the number increased even though civic-run centres administered comparatively fewer doses. More and more people are opting for paid shots as there is limited stock at BMC centres.

During the day, civic-run centres inoculated 17,945 people. While 5,910 were given to senior citizens above 60 years, 9,169 people between 45 to 59 years got the jabs at these vaccination points. Officials said 1,537 second doses were given to people in the 18-44 category. Even 165 students and 199 lactating mothers received vaccines at these centres.
