The Dindoshi Police have arrested the key accused in the March murder case of Goregaon resident, Chandrashekhar Chauhan. The arrested man has been identified as Lukman alias Shahrukh Islam Khan, who was allegedly the lover of the victim’s wife. He was produced before the court and remanded in police custody.

Earlier, the police had arrested the victim’s wife, Ranjana Chauhan alias Ranju and another accomplice, Mainuddin Latif Khan. According to police sources, Ranju was involved in an extramarital relationship with Shahrukh.

“Shahrukh and Ranju had met on social media and soon developed a close bond, often spending hours on the phone. He would visit her home in Chandrashekhar’s absence and had even grown friendly with her children,” said a police officer.

On March 15, the accused overpowered the victim and strangled him. Shahrukh and Mainuddin pressed a wooden plank against his neck and sat on it until he stopped breathing.
